At Bigsool we try to take ourselves not too seriously. We're more focused on taking the solutions for your needs and requirements serious, and spend a large amount of time making sure we do what we do best: finding simple and elegant solutions to complex problems, using a perfect mix of innovative design, user experience, and code.
Our offices are located in Sophia Antipolis, at the CICA. The CICA offers excellent offices, air-conditioning to keep us cool, UPS to keep us busy non-stop, and 24/7 access control and surveillance to keep us safe. We have every kind of Mac, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Linux, Android, and on a daily basis we tackle these with the right amount of Java, Cocoa, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ActionScript, using frameworks of your choice to create great new products.
We try to make the best apps, for the web and mobile devices such as iPhone, iPad, Android. Not every job you might ask us to take on will be accepted. Only those tasks which are challenging enough to be interesting, or complex enough to force us to scratch our heads for a while. Unless of course you pay indecently well :)
It is not our intent to become a large multinational firm. We would prefer to remain a small outfit with a few valuable customers, and time to spare to create apps for mobile users. And maybe an occasional beer, even if most of us prefer a good glass of wine.
Interaction Design
User interaction expert, having received the honors from Apple via two "Pomme d'Or" (Golden Apple Awards), Mic shapes the way we conceive our products and orients the realisation of user interfaces to be simple and intuitive, always adpated to the problem at hand.
Mic, independant since always, and co-founder of several companies, one of which went public, was naturally designated to transform this adventure into a success story. With an excellent relational and a proven experience for leadership, Mic takes care of project management and requirements in general.
In his free time, Mic likes to hike, surf, and surf the web searching for the latest "touch" frameworks, novelties, and continuously learns from new web sites, applications, and devices he analyzes.
New technologies
Software architect and developer with 20 years of experience in C, C++, Java, Objective-C, SQL, Javascript, Python ... David combines the worlds of classical applications and web apps in an innovative and astonishing way. Equally an expert in security and IP networks, David is at ease with the problematics of banking networks and distribution of secure content.
Always testing the latest technologies, good and bad, he is on the outlook of the latest tendencies for us and our customers.
Passionate photographer, David regularly shares his greatest shots with us. His talent also shows in his analysis, which we hope he'll share with everyone soon on our tech-blog.
Client / Server architecture
Laurent is our expert in client server architecture. Knowledgable about scaling and performance issues with web servers, and servers in general, he's the man to find and implement innovative and efficient solutions. Laurent also participates in the emergence of web 2.0 clients, and beyond, adopting standards whenever possible, with a keen analysis of the shortcomings and advantages of new technologies.
Laurent likes to find algorithmes that will simplify tomorrow, hide complexity and increase performance and productivity of end-users. Exceptional programmer, he always goes to the bottom of things, not only for his personnal interrest, but also to make sure that every thing is square and bug free.
When Laurent needs a change of ideas, he rides his mountain bike, or simply walks, in the mountains just behind us ...
Design
Christopher is the creative of the team. Resourceful and careful to detail, he draw and creates logos, marketing materials, web sites, as well as mobile apps. Like mic in user experience, he has the final say on the visual aspects, and he'd better be pixel perfect ;)
Hard working and demanding, Christopher is very good at translating our customers needs into strategy and artwork, making their identity come true on-screen.
Outdoor and nature amateur, Christopher loves hiking and finds inspiration in the Meditarrenean calanques.
Mobile & Flash technologies
Thomas is the youngest of the team! However, despite his 25 years, or maybe thanks to, he grew up in a web world and has a real and strong expertise in this field! So much that he even teaches graduates at the University of Aix-Marseille II !
Open minded, and working countless hours, Thomas is capable of finding adapted solutions in terms of performances and cost to the most complex problems!
Thomas spends most of his spare time implementing small prototypes... which regularly transform into solutions you can find in the AppStore!

The ALL4ONE team's web site is meant to provide its last news, pictures and videos as a showcase and events platform for the team, thanks to a flexible and easy-to-use administration interface.
WeatherStation Free will provide you the official NOAA's real time weather information of your location.
No setup and multiple gorgeous themes will make this application a must have for your docked iPad as it also features a clock.
Simple and efficient, this application gives you the actual weather with:
- Overal weather
- Current temperature
- Humidity
- Barometer
- Dewpoint
- Windchill
- Wind speed and direction
- Lowest temperature
- Highest temperature
- Rain chances for today and tonight
The application also features a 5 day forecast with:

Last but not least, you can choose between 12 themes that will suit your interior decoration.
We have received mails from several users experiencing problems with getting WeatherStation Free to locate correctly their position. We are currently working on this problem. And we already have one way to solve it for now.
If you are not in the United States, for now you are out of luck. It was easy to get weather data for the United States, for the rest of the world it turns out to be much more challenging. But we are hard at work to negotiate with a provider to get WeatherStation Free to work also in every other country.
If you are in the United States, and WeatherStation Free just keeps on searching for your current location, and it looks like nothing works, try the following:
Now when you launch WeatherStation Free, it should display the weather information for your location.
You can use the simulation of the Settings below to enter a Zip Code or city, and we will try to display the Latitude and Longitude coordinates. You can then copy these values into the Settings, and you should be done.
Several user have pointed out some shortcomings of WeatherStation Free, most of which we intend to address in the upcoming version.
As the above has clearly shown, we need to provide a better method for entering and viewing your current location. This will be addressed in the next version.
It will be possible to select 24 hours or 12 hours in the Settings in the next version.
As the app is currently only using american weather information, we had not anticipated that so many of you wanted to view the temperature in Celsius. It will be possible to select Fahrenheit or Celsius in the Settings in the next version.
And we thought you all wanted to view the app with your iPad in the dock... Well, we seem to have been wrong on that one, so landscape display is coming in the next version.
The Nice Airport application displays all the departure and arrival flights in real time.
Fast and simple, you can easily find your flight as on a real information panel and find :
- Arrival and departure times
- City of destination/provenance
- Company
- Terminal
- Flight's status (Delayed, canceled, landing, ...)
The application also features a map of all the airport's parking with fees and time to get to the terminal.

The app is not yet available on the AppStore.
We have developed a technology that enables you to display any kind of schedule as you would see it on a schedule board in an airport or a train station.
This technology is pluggable on any website without any modifications and is easy to set up. We have developed Nice Airport as a showcase application of this technology for the airport of Nice, France. It is easily adapted to your needs and requirements.
Our AdSense plugin allows Flowplayer users to monetize their content using the AdSense network.
The plugin features prerolls, midrolls and postrolls as well as overlays. You can schedule ads through static configuration or dynamically using Javascript. Smart ad preloading, your users won't have to wait the ad to be preloaded.
Our AdSense plugin is officially supported both by Google and Flowplayer. No bad surprises or dead-end situations.
The plugin is currently being in BETA phase. However, you can contact us if you want to join the program or be notified when it will be officially released.

Flowplayer is the most advanced open source Flash video player available for your video needs in every browser. It features an easy configuration and skinning engine, as well as multiple plugins for more advanced use.
We have been working with Flowplayer's codebase since early 2009, and are tightly working with Anssi and Tero (the core Flowplayer team) since January 2010.
